Indian Musical Instruments

Some ancient Indian instruments were: the tabla, a percussion instrument that looked like a pair of drums; a santoor, which was a stringed instrument with seventy strings;a pungi, which is a woodwind instrument that is played by snake charmers; a kartal, which was a wood-clapper instrument with small metal jingles; and a manjeera, which was a small set of metal cymbals.

This is a tabla.

This is a santoor.

Manjeera, in three different sizes.

A kartal.

 

This is a pungi, or been, which is used as a snake charmer.
