Paintings of Ancient India

Indian paintings depicted everyday life, gods and goddesses like Vishnu, Ganesh, Shiva,  religion, people in dance poses, Ashoka, stories from religious books, Mehndi, and animals such as cows, elephants, etc.

This Warli painting is from an Indian tribe whose beliefs had little in common with Hinduism.

Ganesha is the Hindu god of luck.
